Pre-Authorization
- The Office of Human Resources no longer requires that students
be pre-authorized before they can apply for student positions. Once
departments decide to hire a student, they should send the student
to the Office of Human Resources to complete the required paperwork
on or before their first day of work. Upon completing the paperwork,
the student will be given the small green "HRC" sticker
to verify that have met both employment eligibility and identity verification
as required by the BCIS. You will also need to submit a Student Hire/Change
form to officially hire the student and ensure they are paid on time.
Students
will need to bring a valid ID, Social Security Card, and check or
deposit slip (if they would like their check direct deposited) to
complete the following paperwork:
- Employee
Information form
- I-9
- W-4
- NRA
tax packet (necessary for international students only)
Routing
the Student Hire Change form:
Regular
Wage students: send the original document directly to the
HR office
or
Federal
Work Study Program (FWSP) students: send the original to
the Financial Aid (FA) office. It is then forwarded to the
HR office after FA approval.
Pay
periods:
Student
pay periods are from the 16th of the month to the 15th of the
following month. Time sheets are due in the HR office on the
16th. Payday is the last working (business) day of the month.

Reminder:
A separate time sheet is required for each pay period. Do not
combine two or more pay periods on a one time sheet.
