17 of the American Association of University Professors Collective
Bargaining Agreement states:
"Portland State University and the American Association of University Professors
recognize the important contributions that Academic Professionals make to the
university community. As such, we are committed to encouraging the professional
growth and development of Academic Professionals. The University and the Association
worked together on a new system for compensation, evaluation, and advancement
for Academic Professionals. As a result of this collaborative effort, the previous
system of placement and promotion of Academic Professionals to ranks has been
replaced by the implementation of a job factor evaluation system. "
