- Virtual Learning Environment Designer and Analyst - School
of Extended Studies
The
School of Extended Studies is seeking a Virtual Learning
Environment Designer and Analyst to manage the design, development
and evaluation of elearning programs and courses implemented,
supported and/or managed by the department of Online Program
Services. The VLE Designer & Analyst reports to the
Director of Online Program Services and assists the Director
by providing project management and data to support departmental
priorities and planning.
The
VLE Designer & Analyst brings a project manager's skill
set to the design of programs and courses, managing process,
budget and workflow as well as creating documentation of
project goals and progress. In addition, this candidate
for this position must demonstrate a working understanding
of instructional design for elearning and a current knowledge
of academic and instructional technologies and how they
impact the VLE design process. The VLE Designer & Analyst
can expect to supervise both instructional designers and
student technical support workers and work on cross-functional
program design and evaluation teams on which he/she bears
the responsibility for managing budget, priorities and timelines
with a high degree of detail. This is a full-time position.
Required
Qualifications
PhD in Education, Educational Technology
or related field, or MA/MS with 3 years of experience.
Experience implementing online learning systems
and knowledge of related hardware and software.
Experience in planning and implementing elearning
courses and programs.
Experience managing educational technology
projects in educational environments.
Experience in designing successful elearning
courses.
Professional level writing and communication
skills.
Demonstrated experience in planning, project
management and project budgeting.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
in an academic setting.
Preferred
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to work with faculty,
administrators and content developers engaged in elearning.
Experience with and knowledge of contemporary
standards in online student service provision.
Demonstrated problem solving ability in technology
environments.
Ability to work independently within collaborative
teams.
Strong and demonstrable ability to manage
multiple simultaneous tasks.
Compensation
The
annual salary rate for this position is $53,000- $59,000
depending on experience plus an excellent benefits package
including fully-paid healthcare, reduced tuition rates for
employees or one dependent at any of the OUS institutions,
and a generous retirement and vacation package.
