- Innovation Associate - Innovation & Industry Alliances
Portland
State University seeks a full-time Innovation Associate
in its office of Innovation & Industry Alliances. The
Innovation Associate will assist the Director, Innovation
& Industry Alliances, in identifying & managing
PSU innovation, establishing and facilitating relationships
with external parties, promoting opportunities for faculty
innovation activities, and establishing contracts to cement
rights and relationships.

Bachelor's degree required.

Experience
should be in fields related to communication, contracting,
marketing, or some combination thereof.

Must
also have demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills,
analytical skills, oral and written communications skills;
and the ability to interact
effectively in both academic and corporate cultures.

Strongly prefer an advanced degree and 3-5 years experience.

Experience
in drafting and negotiating agreements involving intellectual
property such as Confidentiality Agreements, Materials
Transfer Agreements, Sponsored Research Agreements, Option
and License Agreements; knowledge of intellectual property
law, patents, and licensing practices.

Work closely with PSU research teams to help researchers
understand options, rules & opportunities for dissemination
of research. Work proactively with researchers prior to
creation of intellectual property.

Draft
& negotiate licensing/option agreements and other
related contracts under the supervision of the Director,
Innovation & Industry Alliances

Evaluate technologies for potential for impact and public
relationship.

Perform
market analyses for technologies with commercialization
potential.

Assist
the Director, Innovation & Industry Alliances, in
promoting opportunities for faculty innovation activities.

Manage patent related decisions and docketing for portfolio
technologies.

Give
public presentations on PSU innovation and policies.
Salary
Competitive
salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Salary includes an excellent benefits package with fully
