- Assistant Media Relations Director - Athletics - Fixed Term
Portland
State University invites applications for the position of
Assistant Media Relations Director.
Key
Repsonsibilities and Performance Standards
-
Primary liaison
for the women's volleyball, basketball and softball programs.
-
Produce regular
press releases, game programs, media guides and other
informational pieces on assigned sports.
-
Responsible
for game preparation, management, staffing and statistical
record keeping as it pertains to assigned sports.
-
Handle all
correspondence with media, conference and national offices
as they pertain to assigned sports.
-
Assist with
men's basketball and football game day operations as assigned.
-
Assist with
supervision and training of media relations intern.
-
Post internet
pages as required on athletics website www.GoViks.com.
-
Follow budget
guidelines for media relations.
-
Maintain
clipping file for all sports.
-
Demonstrate
knowledge, understanding, and commitment to compliance
with Portland State University, NCAA, and Big Sky policies,
rules, and regulations.
-
Other duties
as designated by Media Relations Director.
Minimum
Qualifications
- Bachelor's
degree and three years of related experience in athletic
media relations required.
- Experience
working with statistics for all sports
- Skills managing the internet
and various desktop software programs.
- Must successfully complete
and criminal background check
Preferred
Qualifications
- Division I experience
- Desktop publishing experience
and/or knowledge in a Macintosh environment
