ARC-003 - Assistant or Associate Professor of Sustainability Design and Technology - Architecture - Tenure Track

Portland State University offers a four-year baccalaureate degree with a major in architecture. The program is currently developing a professional Master of Architecture program. The program emphasizes cultural engagement, design + making, and visual language within the vibrant urban context of the city of Portland, Oregon.

The PSU Department of Architecture invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Architectural Sustainability and Technology with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates will be expected to hold at minimum a Master's degree in Architecture or a PhD in Building Science, three to six years in teaching, and experience in architectural practice and/or research that demonstrates a focus on a critical attitude in the design and production of buildings.

The successful candidate will be expected to take a leadership role in guiding the development of departmental and university courses and programs in sustainability, as well as teach and pursue creative scholarship, research and practice. Applicants should have recognized accomplishments in research or professional practice and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated expertise in interdisciplinary teaching and research, have LEED accreditation, and an established record in research.
